Common Plume Moth

The picure shows a Common Plume Moth (Emmelina monodactyla) resting on the wall of my dining room where I found it hidden behind a picture frame today (1 September 2001). Plume moths have feather-like wings, and this one has a wing span af about 28mm. Its third pair of legs, and its antennae are held close to the body in this picture.

A common moth in gardens and woodland, its caterpillar food plant is convolvulus.
